Getting Started

Well, we're finally figuring out how to set up our blog. Hopefully this will help our friends and family members keep in touch and up to date with how things are going with us, especially with the house and wedding planning. As I'm sure most of you know, we got engaged October 29th when Pete hid the engagement ring inside the pumpkin I was carving. I cut off the top and was scraping out the seeds when I hit something big...and white. I had no idea what it was, but I was quite sure it didn't belong in there and panicked. Pete had to come pull it out, then as he was making fun of me and taking the box out of the plastic bag he had wrapped it in, I finally caught on, and I was stunned. I know we had been discussing it, but I had no clue he'd actually bought a ring or anything. Of course I said yes, and the rest is history. We settled on July 2007, so now we begin the fun task of planning the most entertaining wedding EVER. (ok, probably not EVER, but it's worth a shot, right?) Of course, we're also trying to make our house more attractive, but that's fairly well stalled for the winter. That's the background info, hopefully we'll be able to keep you all up-to-date on things! We wish we could see everyone more often, but especially for those of you who live far away (like Maine, Florida and Australia) this will have to be a second-rate substitute. Make sure to let us know if there's anything you want us to put up here that we're forgetting!!
